Easley Is A Good Place To Live! A Place To Work There are over 5,000 people employed by major industries in Easley with a weekly payroll of more than S300,000. The chief industry is textiles or allied lields. A Place To Worship . . . The community is church-oriented. A total ol' 24 churches representing eight denominations, serve the area. A Place To Slutlv . .. The modern school system is a part ofthe single-unit county system. There are I0 elementary schools, one senior high and one junior high. ln l97l-72 there were 5,958 students enrolled, with 298 teachers employed. This provided at teacher-pupil ratio of 22-I in junior and senior high, and 26-l in elementary schools. Special teclmical education is available at the Tri-County Educatiorl Center, in which the county participates, or at the Greenville Techni- cal Education Center. ln addition, a vocational school serves Easley High School. A Place To Play . . . There are two public parks, one with lighted tield for all sports and lighted tennis courts, The YMCA is open to all members of the family for planned and supervised programs including swimming in an outdoor pool. A modern commercial recreation center featuring a bowling center and pool is available. There are theatres, a cornniercial golf course. and a stock car race track. The Pickens County Country Club, situated a few miles from Easley, is open to area residents. Very near are Table Rock State Park and Hartwell Lake offering a variety ol' recreational facilities.
