The well-rounded program of vocational agriculture serves its community as well as its school. Boys participating in the four-year course progress from a general study of livestock in the beginning course through crops and soil to farm management in the last year. Home Economics students experi- enced various situations from simple to advanced. These included sewing a simple garment, tailoring, understand- ing basic nutrition, preparing well- balanced and attractive meals, learning about child development, understanding oneself, studying room improvement and home furnishings. Home Ec I G II students were taught the fundamentals of baking and cooking. 27

MR. CHARLES ROGERS. Industrial Arts I, II, III G IV, Jr. High Industrial Arts; Sophomore Class Adviser. The new shop features many new mechanical devices and gives ample space for work on projects. Formerly Earlville's junior high math and social studies instructor, Mr. Rogers accepted the industrial arts position. In the first two years of study the boys ex- plored areas such as free hand sketching, electricity, mechanical drawing, and machine woodwork. The junior and senior course included metal work, architectural drawing and an advanced study in some area of the student's choice. 29
