Mr. Thayer, our superin- tendent, is completing his third yearatE.H.S. This past sum- mer he administered the many improvements that were made which included the carpeting of the library, the refurbishing of the study hall, and the purchas - ing of equipment for various de- partments. Last March a com- mittee of evaluators from the North Central Association spent several days at our school and submitted a favorable report on their findings at Earlville. Mr. Robert H. Thayer, Superintendent Administering Our School Mr. Herbert Rieke, Principal With the growth of our school have come added responsibilities to Mr. Rieke, now completing his fourth year at Earlville. His many duties included advising the Student Council, and supervi- sing all school functions. In addition, Mr. Rieke also taught a sociology class. 20

Mr. Peter Halm, Mrs. Norma Larson, Mr. Roger Kuhleman, Mr. Rudolf Timmerman, and Mr. Stuart Montooth, bus drivers, provided trans- portation to and from school. Not pictured are Mr. Keith Harris, Mr. Paul Hughes, Mr. Larry Storkman, Mr. Donald Hanley, and Mr. Larry Myers. Mrs. Mary Mathesius, Mrs. Margaret Larabee, and Mrs. Helen Hill, our office secretaries, faithfully executed the many office duties. Service with a Smile Our maintenance men, Mr. Forrest Vance and Mr. Sid Winter, performed the many tasks our school required. Absent from the picture are Mr. Henry Goldman and Mrs. Esther Yarnell. 22
