Exploring Freshman students, Mary Ann Ferrill and Paul Martin observe nuclear decay by means of a cloud chamber. General science is a subject that provides an overall view of our environment, whereas physical science consists of three specific areas: astronomy, physics, and chemistry. Other studies of science include advanced biology, which gives the students a background for college preparatory biology and a glimpse into other sciences offered in the school. Collecting leaves and insects are the annual projects. Physics and chemistry, taught in alternating years, give the junior and senior students a better understanding of the laws of nature and provide a sound background for those wishing to pursue a career in these fields of study. Calculating problems and proving experiments are just two of the daily tasks. The field of science can be summed up in three words: think and appreciate. 18
