Our F.H.A., organized several years ago by Mrs. Ernest Craft, is having a very successful year. Although Mrs. Craft resigned in mid-summer to be married to Donald MacDonald, she opened the department in the fall and taught our classes for the first month. During this time she outlined the year's work and helped us plan the activities for our organization. By the end of September, Mrs. Elizabeth Burton had taken over the work of the depart- ment, and under her able direction our club has moved along smoothly and effectively. In November, twenty-five new members were added at our annual initiation. Shortly before Christmas we served a Mothers' tea. During this season we made contributions to a needy family and to the local hospital. In the spring we will have a fashion show of the clothes we have made. We will also take a trip to Chicago to observe fashions and to visit the kitchen of a fine restaurant. We have had one bake sale and expect to have another before the end of the year. As we come to the end of the first semester we are grateful for the work we have accomplished, and are enthusiastically look ing forward to the last half of our school year. We are especially grateful that we have been able to accomplish these things under the guidance of our two fine teachers, Mrs. MacDonald and Mrs. Burton. 41 FRONT ROW: Ed Doughty, Treasurer; Willard Landers, Larry Stanford, Parliamentarian; Ralph Sellers, John Sondgeroth, Richard Sutton. Annually, members of the Spanish Club enjoy a Christmas party before the holiday season. After a potluck supper the members participate in a traditional Spanish custom of breaking the pinata. This is a large clay jar which is covered with bright-colored paper and filled with nuts, fruits, and candies. It is hung by a cord and the one who is blind- • folded tries to strike it with a stick in order to break it. Everyone then scrambles to get all the goodies he can. 49 GO YOU RAIDERS This 1960-1961 Pep Club is composed of members of the student body from junior high through the senior class. They are on hand for all home games, and travel by bus to those played out of town. The Pep Club, along with the help of our fine cheerleaders, is the ’’steam behind the team. They are the ones responsible for instilling in the team the incentive to win. We, the yearbook staff, would like to give a round of applause to the 1960-1961 Pep Club for its wonderful work, pep, and enthusiasm. You can be proud of yourselves for a job well-done!
