AWARD JOAN KREITER The aim of the Daughters of the Ameri can Revolution award is to pay tribute to youthful character and to call attention to the qualities of good citizenship: dependa- bility, service, leadership, and patriotism. PREMIER BOYSâ STATE REPRESENTATIVES GARY WOLF JOHN MYERS Each year the faculty selects two boys from the junior class to represent the school at Premier Boys' State in Springfield. They are chosen primarily for qualities of leadership although other factors are con- sidered. Boys' State is an organization which offers, to the future leaders of America, training for the respon- sibilities they must one day assume. The citizens of Boys' State learn how the government operates from the inside out by taking an active part in the gov- ernment of a mythical fiftieth state. They hold fiery campaigns, elect their own officials, make their own rules, and hold their own trials. For the opportunities our school has of- fered we are deeply grateful. Some we have accepted - others we have neglected - and our lives have been enriched or made poorer by our decision. This is AS WE SEE OUR- SELVES. 43 YEARBOOK CONTRIBUTIONS Again, as in the past, part of the financing of the yearbook has been supported by the merchants in the Earlville area.
