it takes a heap o' livin' the first few weeks of school for freshmen who are iust settling into the social element to feel at home. there are all kinds of ice breakers to smooth the process of adiustment: name tags and maroon beanies, faculty-at-home parties, a president's reception, mixers and friendly smiles. during tri-day trials precedents members are the enemy and to be avoided at all costs. to upper classmen the initiates look younger than they did when they were freshmen . . . perhaps they're a bit more intelligent . . . and some of them aren't bad looking. if frosh only had the time, there would be a lot to write to the folks back home.
