The boys of liuncly Hall had established a system of self-control in that year and were making a success of it. Miss Catherine Snepp, then a Senior, was a very progressive person and a firm believer in Women ' s Rights. She began to advocate student govern- ment among the girls and the result was the organization, that spring, of the Girls ' Student Council, with Miss Snepp as its first president.
