His unselfish devotion and high ideals have helped train many Eagletown High School youths to be upright and honorable citizens. He is always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need of advice or otherwise. He is firm, but fair. One student said, You may not like what he says at the time, but you can depend on it! As High School Principal he is also High-Principled. For these reasons and others too numerous to mention, we are happy to dedicate this annual to Mr. Joe Nevills. Board of Ed uoalion 4? Charles F. K N ADMINISTRATION L '- X The school year 1977-1978 has been a year of many changes for the Eagletown Public School. There are changes being made in the physical plant with the construction of a new vocational building complete with bus servicing, plans for auto mechanics, and a Special Education Classroom. This year has also been the first year that high school stu- dents have had an opportunity to take college classes and gain credits toward a college degree. Senior high students have also been extended an -opportunity for gainful vocational employ- ment while completing high school. I would certainly like to congratulate both the members of the Senior class on completion of the high school level of edu- cation, and Mrs. Smallwood, along with the Annual Staff for the good job they have done on this year's edition of the 1977- 1978 Eagle Homer L. Coleman, Superintendent - Eagletown Public Schools if 5: It surely has been a good year, working with your staff. I know that you have worked very hard meeting all the deadlines that you have had to meet. The administration appreciates all the hard work you have done for the whole school. Every stu- dent in years to come can remember the good times he has had here at Eagletown. Best of luck in everything you do. Joe B. Nevills, Principal Eagletown Public Schools Congratulations to the yearbook staff for a job well done. This has been a year of building and progress for Eagletown This year has been very challenging and rewarding for Eagle- town Elementary School. We have made great progress in improved testing and placement for students with learning problems. Believing that more learning takes place in a happy environment, we have provided that type of atmosphere for our happy boys and girls. It is our goal to provide an enrichment program to offer that little something extra to make school fun. Throughout the year we have given opportunities for students to develop tal- ents in our assembly programs and have broadened the hori- zons of learning through a variety of films covering many sub' iects. I wish to thank all the teachers and parents who have made this year so bright. Finally to summarize, l'd say Happiness ls Being in Eagletown Elementary School. We would also like to thank our sponsor, Mrs. Smallwood, for all the assistance she has given us. We certainly could not have done the work without her. We appreciate the opportunity that we had in serving as Editor and Co-Editor of the 1977-78 Eagle. We will always remember it as an honor and a privilege to have been selected for these jobs. The annual has been completed, we are ver' proud of our efforts, and have all worked long and hard on it. The annual staff for the 78' Eagle has learned a lot and enjoyed the work. We hope that all of you enjoy reading this edi tion of the Eagle and that it may serve as a happl reminder of the 1977-78 school year. i i l i i l Co-Editor: Lisa Simpson YEARBODK QUEEN ndg Joiner gf my 3 X 5 W , ,.
