,VAX my F 4 , jg ef: 4 X , 1.4 . ' 1 ' The Eagles wins were few and far between, although they were hard and exciting games. No excuses need be made for the loses because all of the players were young and inexperienced. To open the season, the Eagles played Huntington in which we collapsed by a score of 28 - 25. Then we motored to Hereford, the land of sand and rock. Again we were defeated by 30 - 6 with Vernon Dennis pushing over our one and only touchdown. Halfway invaded our valley for our next game and went home with a victory of 32 - 12. Next we journed to the Dust Bowl, St. Francis, to play under the lights. We gained our first victory, which was 25 - 6, with Dale Graven pushing over twelve points, Tiny Trickel six points, and Ed olland seven points. We sailed up the river to play the Locomotives on the Sticker Bowl next. We came home with a score of 18 - L2 hanging over our heads. On November 3, the Hereford Bulls stormed our valley but we shoved them back for a L6 - 39 defeat. We moved over to Halfway next to play the most ex- citing game of the season. We came home battered, bruised, and beaten by a score of 7 - 8. To end the season, the Leopards played us, but we defeated them by a score of 43 - 12, which gave us 3 wins and 5 loses for the year. 21. ZW 26: 4 22, W2 9?
