MEDITATION TONIGHT By Harry Bondurant Think tonight by the candle glow, Dress your thoughts and let them go. Think of ourselves, our ponderable plight, Visit the deep for awhile tonight. Walk beyond the valley of sleep, Face the problems from which we retreat. Ask why we're here and where next we go, And the many things we want to know. See the Supreme, our Deity meet, Talk to Him and kneel at His feet. Ask Him to end this malignance of life, To speak through His Oracle and lessen our strife. I am as two, you are the same. I am mind and body sometimes broken by strain. Part these for a moment as forward we go, See the unseen, find the truth, really know. But here we are, coasting along, Taking a small part, just singing a song. Think tonight of thoughts and from where they come And then at least you can say, l've begun.

CLASS HISTORY OF THE VEOMEN For eleven years classes have been passing from lowly B7's to distinguished senior ayes. Some of these classes were average and others were superior. So much for the first eleven years. But in February of i934 there came to Eagle Rock High School a twelfth and different class, destined to be the class of W'4O. Officers chosen in the Senior Bee semester were Harold Bentley, president, Kenneth Holsapple, vice-president, Joy Weaver, secretary, Mary Murray, girls' treasurer, Don Graves, boys' treasurer, and Bernard Rosenbaum, historian. One of the most important social events in this semester was the Prom given in honor of the S'39 class. Every phase of this Prom with its theme of a spring garden, was carried out with such oomph that it was recognized as the most successful ever. The name of Yeomcn was chosen to typify the spirit and char- acter of the class. Never could the merry Robin Hood and his Yeomen have displayed such life as have his disciples, the Yeomen cf W'4O. The colors of green and biege were chosen with the emblem using the cap with the feather and the arrow of Robin Hood. Officers selected for the final semester of the class were Hoyt Smith, president, Zelta Burrows, vice president, Elinor Wolters, secretary, Betty Kinney, girls' treasurer, Gunther Hunrichs, boys' treasurer, and Don Graves, historian. The senior aye semester saw many parties, the like of which may never be seen again. Outstanding among the contribu- tions to the pleasure of the school was the Senior Aye Talent Assembly, which again brought to light the fact that among the ranks of the Yeomen are some of the most talented students ever to attend Eagle Rock High School. After this assembly the mothers and girls gathered in the cafeteria to discuss graduation attire. Pin Day was held December l4, l939. The Ephebians of the class were Vlasta Nosek, Virginia Meyer, and David Bryant. A traditional Plaque Day ceremony was the last event before com- mencement. A distinguished graduation ceremony ended the eventful and worthwhile visit of the Yeomen of W'4O at Eagle Rock High School.
