The Johnsonmen dropped their first game to the Rhinelander Hodags by a S9-38 score. Hall paced the Eagles with 16 points and Ewald added 10. Marv Elliott showed some brilliant play and established himself as a starter. Jim Verage paced the victors with 23 points on some red-hot shooting from the side. The Eagles tasted victory in their second start of the season as they took the measure of the Crandon Cardinals by the close score of 116-bl. Hall collected 19 counters to pace the Red and Blue while Case stood out for Crandon with 26 markers. The opening con- ference game saw the Eagles trounce the Elcho Hornets by a hh-26 count. Hall and Stein had 10 apiece for the balanced ER scoring, while Nagel collected 9 and Ewald, 8. Playing their second conference tilt, the Eagles dropped a thriller to the scrappy Three Lakes Bluejays by a two point margin, 36-3h. Hall and Nagel kept the ER team in the game with ll and 9 points respectively, but the one-two punch of Stoehr and Bonack, collected 27 points between them for the winning total. The next contest for the squad was a non-con- ference tilt with the Park Falls ball club, and the Eagles dropped a h3-35 decision at home. Marv Elliott turned in some brilliant shooting and tallied 10 markers while Ewald and Nagel collected 8 each. Greenwood P.F. Sophomore, collected 15 for the Cardinals. Ewald turned in a brilliant scoring record as he tallied 16 points, but this was not enough for victory as Everhart and Ingram collected 16 and 15 points respectively for the neighboring boys. The Eagle River boys journeyed to Park Falls and turned in a top game although they dropped a 6h-58 decision. Nagel, Hall and Ewald formed the main offense as they collected 19, lh, and 10 points, but Steiger took the Scoring honors as he dropped in 25 counters for Park Falls. The ER team then traveled to Minocqua and dropped a 62-39 decision to the red-hot Islanders as their star forward W. Herrick collected 23 points for the winning total. The Red and Blue journeyed to Phelps and barely es- caped with a victory over the home team who couldn't seem to umissn a shot. Hall and Ewald collected 30 points between them to pace the Eagles, who put on a strong last quarter finish, to win by a h9-LS score. Ralph Whitehead paced the Knights with 12 points. THE EAGLE RIVER BEES, UNIER THE CAPABLE HANDS OF COACH G.V. SIMONS, TOOK THE TITLE IN THE NORTHERN DIVISION ANDTHENDEFEATED THE GOODMAN B SQUAD AT THE JAMDOREE, FOR CONFERENCE TITLE.
