The Seven ties Decade: What Has The 70's - Living and learning new and old mistakes Wanda Kay Smith 5 This decade of 1970-1980 has meant that some of us will live and will take a look, but some others will not see the truth. The 70's - There will never be another like it Senior '79 Jorge Adrian Garcia The fantastic discos and disco dances were very popular. Griselda Lopez The 70's as a whole have affected everyone, but to me they will hold many memories. They will mark my first year in high school and the start of a new decade. Ralph Garza 1970's - Carrying the Cross is Get- ting Harder. Irene Euresti The 70's decade has been the most dynamic and phe- nomenal one so far. The advancements made during this decade are incredible: the medical breakthroughs, advanced space technology, recorded UFO incidents, the greatest movies and talents yet, etc., the list is endless. But I think the most significant accomplishment the USA has made is their success in pulling out of war and staying out of war. Katherine Louise Ferguson A decade is just a feeling going away bringing new feel- ingsto our veins. Anonymous As the world turns, Peace, Inflation, and Survival. Alberto Felan It Meant to You? Globally man has learned a little more about lasting peace as well as exploring deeper into the unknown reaches of space as well as understanding himself better. Locally, progress has creeped into our little society and pushed Eagle Pass into a realm not quite predicted so early. Therefore, to me the 70's mean Change. A change that has touched every aspect of our human existence, even if only minutely. We have explored, fought, and made peace. Change andfor transition, that is what the 70's mean to me. Oscar Rodriguez It represented to me the century of the Space Age astronaut. Rudolph Munoz I think that this decade has been one of the most important decades of the 20th Century. Development in technol- ogy and in science have seen its great- est achievements during this decade. The space shuttle is one of the many important inventions that the 70's have left to future generations. Anonymous Ten more years are just another step to make us aware of another ten more years. Herbey Gonzalez. The 70's were an easier decade than the past ones. After years of war, people finally relaxed and did their own thing. Anonymous 10 years is a period of time where you know that time is no less than the clock taking us to a possible retreat of memories. Oscar Garza Decade What Has It Meant to The 70's have been a time when people have found out who they are and what they want to be. People have found that it is better to be themselves than to conform to everyone else's idea of what they should be. The 70's have been described as The Lost Decade because there were no wars, no tremendous conflicts, only self-discovery and healing. All in all, the 70's can be compared to a flower coming into full bloom after passing through the ravages of winter. Brian Schneider The 70's were the best years of my life because they were the times when we graduated from Jr. High and entered High School. They were also the best times I had with my friends. WaIdo's Idea The Vietnam War endedg the World is in a lot of trouble with the energy crisis. Jesus Soliz The 70's for me was a time of crisis. Julie Quinn ttist T ,.. The last 9 years have meant that l'm almost through with High School. Many great politicians have been thrown out! We finally met the energy crisis. The last 9 years was when I com- pleted 33A of my schooling. That's important to me. Vietnam ended, Watergate and the impeachment of Nixon took part, the energy crisis and oil shortage happened. Many great groups debuted inthe 70's: KISS, Bos- ton, Foreigner, Styx, Billy Joel, Steve Martin, The Village People, and Aeros- mith. Bobby Rumberger No gas, no vacation. Lisa Well, the 70's to me have been a time of growing up. This year has been the most important time of my life. So many changes have happened to the world: peace, energy crisis, inflation. The fads and fashions have been ever-changing. I might have changed a few things, but overall it was fantastic and I'm glad I was a part of it. Thanks World! Kathy Grossenbacher The 70's have been a period of small change. The 70's have gone slow and I feel everyone has enjoyed it.
