TwenTy-Tour marching uniTs Trom Mexico, including sTu- denTs from Torreon, Durango, RosiTa, Muzquiz, and Piedras Negras, parTicipaTed in The parade which began aT 2:30 SaTur- day aTTernoon. There were TourTeen represenTaTive American marching uniTs in The parade, including The Sul Ross College Band from Alpine, The SenoriTas de Rosas and Los Caballeros from Odessa Junior College, high school bands Trom Boerne CrysTal CiTy, Uvalde, San Felipe, La Pryor, BraclceTville, Eagle Eassa The local iunior high band, and The Quemado Cowboy an . OTTicially opening The celebraTion was a sTudenT dance aT The Piedras Negras Casino Friday nighT beginning aT eighT. IT was a grand success according To everyone who aTTended. SaTurday TesTiviTies began aT 8:30 a.m. wiTh a concerT by The Sul Ross Band on The Piedras Negras plaza and a concerT by The Eagle Pass Jr. High band on The Eagle Pass posT oTTice sTeps. Uvalde and San Felipe Tollowed The Sul Ross Band, each playing a shorT concerT. All oTher bands presenT Tollow- ed The EPT-TS band wiTh shorT concerTs on The posT oTTice sTeps ending aT I l:3O. Lunch was Served Tree of charge To all viSiTorS beTween ll:OO and I2:3O aT The Eagle Field House courTesy of The RoTary Club. AT I2:45 The Sul Ross Band gave a concerT aT The EPT-IS audiTorium and prompTly aT 2:30 The parade began. lT TirsT wenT To Piedras Negras and Then in Eagle Pass The parade moved Trom The bridge down Commercial ST. To Main ST.. Then down Main To The Eagle T-ToTel. IT Turned righT and pro- ceeded To The plaza, where The parade ended., ApproximaTely sixTy sTudenTs Tool: parT in The STudenT Congress aT The P. N. JUNIOR JUBILEE The Jubilee on Eebruary 71h aT The Eagle Pass l-ligh School AudiTorium, was one oT The biggesT aTTracTions oT The year. As mas'Ter oT ceremonies. Joe Tom Easley was a show in him- self wiTh his iolces and TasT ad- libbing. The opening number was a beauTiTul dance To Deep Purple by EnrigueTa Olivares. The spoTlighT OT The even- ing Tell on AlTonso Lopez and his inTerpreTaTion oT Elvis Pres- ley. The crowd liTerally 'lwenT wild and Elvis did several encores. The show was made up oT songs, dances, panTomimes, and sl4iTs, and much naTural TalenT was displayed. Gail James drew many laughs in her panTo- mime OT The song l'm iusT a Girl ThaT Can'T say No , Trom The show Oklaho- ma. ln all There were ThirTy Two acTs and if one had To choose The besT :T would be impossible Tor They were all very good Une acT which was reguesTed as a repeaT Trom one oT The Junior Tloor shows was STranded in The Jungle TeaTuring Joe Morales, Necah STewarT and Tony Rodriguez.
