EAGLE PASS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT J. 1. 1AMEs, supuinmam EAGLE PAss, Texas To the Class of 19514: This annual is evidence that you have added another important chronicle to the history of the Eagle Pass High School. ln it you have left a record oi' campus activities for the guidance of the classes that will follow. By so doing you have strengthened our many beautiful traditions and have set them on a secure road to permanency. This publication is most appropriate and timely, this being the lOOth year oi' public school education in Texas. Our early sponsors were chivalrous crusaders for the edu- cation of youth. Now, you, being the sons and daughters oi' these fine people, must also be champions for the cause of education. As one of our great statesmen declared at the Columbia University Bicentennial the other day: Ultimately, not by ideology or force of arms, but by sheer force oi' moral and intellectual freedom we will liberate mankind. Since rely yours, 44'Y'44.j J. I. 41 1 diff Superin e dent JIJ:os

EAGLE PASS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT J. I. IAMES, Supzrintendmz Emu: Pnss, Texas To the Students and Graduates of 1954: The most hopeful situation today, as regards international relationship, in a chaotic world, is the Pan-American movement. The countries of the Americas are forging a bond of friendship with each other which bids to distinguish our hemisphere as the only place on earth where no country is at war with any of its neighbors. Students of Eagle Pass High School have their part to play in this program of sympathetic understanding and friend ship among Americans. It is our prayerful hope that in utilizing your every educational opportunity, you may be privileged to live and work in a world of Pan- American ideals, where clasped hands and not mailed fists control our destinies. In your efforts to give to the world the best that you can, remember this: uThere is a destiny that makes us brothersg None goes his way aloneg All that you send into the lives of others Comes back into your own.n Sincerely, C. A. Landrum A-1 'A. M. Boedeker
