Marker. high school marching hand Over the loudspeaker blared the announcement, And now, for our half-time enter- tainment, theEagle Grove High School Marching Band ..., the majorette's whistle gave the forward-march signal, and onto the field stepped our high school marching band with a half-time routine at each 1958 home football game. The band's fall marching season started prior to the 1958-59 school year with their performing at the Humboldt Centennial fair in August, and ended with their participa- tion in Nixon Day at Fort Dodge early in November. 8:00 a.m. and evening rehearsals often kept the band personnel busy, but their efforts were well rewarded with a ban- quet honoring them during the winter. This does not close the band's season, however, for an invitation to Iowa State Col- lege's Veisha festivities CMay 95 was extended to the band and there is a possibility that it may march at Mason City's annual band festival in June.
