The above citation is given to each member of the National Honor Society. Member- ship in the National Honor Society is determined by scholarship, character, service, and leadership. To be eligible for nomination to this society, a student must be a junior or senior in residence in our school for one year, and must rank in the top one-third of his respective class. A total of 152 of the senior class may be members Q5'Z, elected in their junior yearj and 575 of the junior class may members. These percentages are se- lectd by an individual evaluation of the eligible students by the faculty. A total is made of the teachers' appraisalsg the total is divided by the number of teachers rating the stu- dent. The 5'Z, of the juniors and the 152, of the seniors are then selected from the top averages of the faculty ratings. The National Honor Society is an honorary rather than an active organization in our high school.
