The 1930 EAGLET Senior Prophet q At the close of the school year we were astonished to learn that one of our classmates had arisen to sudden fame Newspapers magazines pamphlets radio programs and books were dedicated to our friend Lowell Burger We learned that he had been carry ing on the very difficult course of predicting futui es by crystal reading Now we can well realize why Mr Burger was so busy and overworked during his Senior year As a special favor Mr Burger consented to eveal the futures of his worthy classmates We find him beginning with Dale Slmpkins Due to Dale s well known Scotch disposition he is holding down two Jobs Nights find him 'ming a series of lectures on Love Day finds him disguised as a bllnd man attempting to play an accordion After much persua sion on Dale s part Ora Helgevold has consented to be his manager Mary Tremaine 1S making a world famous tour demonstrating both the quality and quantity of the new size 10E Arch Support shoe Next Ernogene B1ll1ngs appears Much to her dlsappomtment she is informed that she will humbly accept the position as head mlstress in Goldfields combined Old Maids In st1tut1on and Poor Farm Miss Billings is not entirely separated from her former class mates as Malbourne Sampson prcves to be the capable Janitor We are sorry to relate the next incident but since fate has willed it so we must p o ceed Norris Olson due to his expert skill ln drlvlng a milk wagon received a S1 000000 prize for being the most efficient and best natured milk man in New York Wishing to share his good fortune with some of hls comrades of 30 he cordially extended invitations to his yachting party While the party was Just off the coast of Africa a typhoon aused dleton a noted dancing instructor Mildred Gray author of several books including How I Kept My Beautiful Figure Anna Pehl the pensioned rural school teacher La Verne Fatland a retired farmer Robert Shaftoe a garbage collector of Woolstock Bernice Mellgren a milk maid and Irene Larson a famous opera singer After this sad mcldent only one person survived this being Wayne Trask Next we will turn to some of our classmates that have become famous 1n the1r profes SIODS In Ringling Bros Circus our class of 30 is very well represented Mildred Orr 1S the first one we find I know you will be surprlsed to find that Mildred who took tnose much needed hours from the studying of that much loved subject Physics to reduce has given up all hope and accepted the position of fat lady of the circus Harold Mid :lleton proves to be the slender man We fmd Edna Orsland filling a position as a snake charmer Carroll Stracke is the devoted but stern manager Several of our girls have formed a famous dancing chorus with Lola Netland as dlrector and Jos ph Askviv manager The girls prove to be Irene Long Wilma Marley Mildred Anderson Emlly Hor ton Elsie Olson Margaret Sandvw Harriett Swendson Eleanor Slalkeu Leona Smith and Winifred Tokheim Bruce Middleton is the elephant trainer and sells ice cream cones between acts Stewart Wiest is the proud owner of a very famous collection of monkeys Now Mr Burger gives a Hollywood Revue Lester Johnson has succeeded that much loved actor Conrad Nagel Gweneth Dewey and Eldon Chrlsteson make those Saturday night shows much more interesting for Eagle Grove folks as they are now the well known Cow Girl Dewey and Cow Boy Christeson William Rlsetter Richard Osman Will ard Soppeland Marion Severson Thomas Severtson and Emory Friday have organized a Bachelors Sextet for the vltaphone vaudeville acts Dorothy Wilson has accepted the positron of assisting Coach Beem in publishing the Eagle Grove High School annuals Gertrude Thompson and Erma Imboden are hex faltr lul helpers Fern Anderson is seen keeping house Mr Burger is unable to see who the lucky man IS however we have our suspicions as to his identity Alice Grimes IS raising prize chickens and keeping house on their farm near Eagle Glove Lrllian Stumpf is workmg ln Wlsconsm in a very exclusive cheese factory due to the good influence of her old flame Ed uiese Brothers Stryker Thebiay Cummings Levsis Billings and Hillman are now in Afrlca doing mission work They earn their may from town to town by street cleaning E 1112221212122 2222221211 12222111122 112212222223 QQ? the complete destruction of the yacht.
