Being the First team in history of EHS to win a football state championship is a great accomplishment. Much has been said about “goals” and “attitude” but you men said it better than anyone. The success was long overdue. This team, over the last two seasons, had been forced to battle against inexperience and youth, while at the same time facing a basketball tradition at Eads that simply didn’t put the demand for success on a volleyball team. The girls were big enough to place the demand on themselves and to meet those demands in grand fashion. It is my hope that this is the start of a tradition and not just a flash in the pan. The talent and enthusiasm possessed by the underclassmen on this team leads me to believe that the former hope will come true. Congratulations Girls! There was steady progress in skills from the begin- ning by every wrestler along with a determination by each to improve. It also helped to have an individual in each weight class except one. STUCO One of my goals and dreams for our EHS STUCO has been to see that some of our student leaders were able to go to the LaJunta Drive-In Conference in April and to go to Ft. Collins in August and October. All three of these hopes (dreams) came true in 1986. As a result our student leaders are learning more about re- sponsible leadership, gaining new and better ideas and friendships. Added spirit signs, loyalty, better organization, enjoyable slide shows, Freshman Orientation, secret pals, and greater school spirit are just some of the benefits from these experi- ences. It was a year with many “firsts.” Stu- dents performed well in the Christmas concert and the spring concert. Also, the musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” received rave reviews. Marching band and Jazz band were back in the schedule after being unavailable for several years. Also, for the first time since 1963, the EHS Band participated in the Colorado State Band Festival. As always, the Air Force Day trip to Colorado Springs was fun. The 1986-87 year will be remembered as the year the EHS Band came out of the practice room and went to the stage. 36 Dana Forbes, Huddle Capt.; Jenny Rittgers, Report- er; Billy Koehler, Programs; Kristi Griswould, Hud- dle Capt.; Melissa Krei, Programs; and Heather Mosher, Sec. All the boys contributed a great deal to the team as a whole during practices and the games. I’m looking forward to next year and I would like to wish the graduating class of 8th graders Good Luck in their future athletic endeavors. Giff Just as in football this basket- ball season proved to be a learning process. The boys learned that there are times when giving of their time in practice was not enough, sometimes. As the season pro- gressed each boy showed a lot of improvement in their over- all skills. I saw a lot of poten- tial for the future. I’m looking forward to next year and I know that some of the eighth grade boys will be an asset to the high school team. Wrestling being an individual sport gives me as a coach the opportunity to help each boy develop singularly. Each wrest- ler has showm that he is willing to learn and improve himself. Our season has been pretty hectic and fast paced, but the boys kept up with it by showing improvement in their drills. Some of the boys have expressed an interest in con- tinuing on with wrestling in high school and I’m sure they will be a benefit for Coach Woods. 53 FRESHMAN Amy Morgan Melissa Barlow Stacey Reystead Shelly Crawford Joe Wroblewski Bill Koehler Tommy Swopes Brett Rusher Joani Weeks Duff Liebl Diane Hagen Angela Fuqua Sean Wyatt Sam Nelson Nathan Nye Oscar Ridgeway 56 CLASS Christy Pittman Nikki Hopkins Wanda Seibel Roberta Spell Mark Stephenson Clint Bean Chris Stowell Neil Lane Jimmie Patterson Rick Spell Catch me, I’m falling SOPHOMORES Terry Arnold Mark Brown Sharon Crow Shelly Daniel Anna Maye Driskell Jeff Engelhardt Mike Hines Polly Howe Neil Koch Melissa Krei Artie Lane Jami Liebl 58 Shane Lessenden Rodney McDaniel Angie Offill Wendy Priddy Jennifer Rittgers Heath Spady Stacy Uhland Lance Wall Jeff Woelk Sharon at her best I’m so confused!! 59 JUNIORS Audrey Barlow Jimmy Brown Mike Crawford Dana Forbes Terrill Frazee Lora Kirby Kelly Hebberd JoAnna Holmes Waylon King Kristie Lane Dwight McDaniel Ricky McDaniel Darwin Nelson Angie Stephenson Michelle Swopes Jami Vitacco Marcy Watts Gary Weisdorfer Just think, someday these people will be in charge of the world Bless you my son Waylon King Kristie Lane Audrey Barlow Mike Crawford Landa Eikner Matt Krei Terri Wall Terrill Frazee Jami Vitacco Shelly Hines Eric Zimmerman Ricky McDaniel Monty Weeks JoAnna Holmes Jimmy Brown Marcy Watts Gary Weisdorfer Tommy Winter Emily Winter Sallyjean Gould Henry Short Lou Prentice Bert Baxter Madeline Short Milton Geer Guest Guest Guest Policeman Stage Crew Props Advertisements Cue Person Usher Tickets Darwin Nelson Heather Mosher Kristi Griswould Angie Stephenson Michelle Swopes Keith Crow Lora Kirby Rodney McDaniel Geleslie King Kelly Hebberd Dana Forbes Gary Weisdorfer Ricky McDaniel Kim Pittman Marvin Watts Shelly Hines Eric Zimmerman William W. The students of Eads High School would like to dedicate this page of our 1986-87 Eads High School annual to the memory of Bill Seibel. The students really appreciate all that Bill did for them, both individually and as a school, to make them proud of our school. Bill’s hard work and friendly smile will be missed by all of us, so we dedicate this page to the memory of Bill Seibel.
