Eads nigh hosted the first annual Eads Tall Scholastic i owl. Mrs. Wall and Miss Lessenden initiated and org- anized the contest. This event was an academic competition for teams of four met;:' ers. Eig:.t schools entered. Eads won the championship round by beating Wiley in t e last few sec- onds. The team members from Eads were: (L-R) Diane Drown, Ken Kelley, Derek Gulley-Capt, and Steve Shotton. Derek Gulley, Capt, Gina • ones, and Steve S.otton On Kovember 19 nine students attended the annual Math Day at the Univ. of Southern Colorado in Pueblo. Two teams from Eads participated in the Math Bowl, a 32-team tourney, [he senior team, composed of Derek Gulley, Captain, Gina Jones, and Steve Shotton, won their first two games, then lost in the Quart- er-finals in a close game, l’he Junior team composed of Diane rown, Captain, Jean Seibel and Viola Wissel, lost their first two games but gained valuable experience for next yearte bowl. In addition to the owl compet- ition, tne students on the bowl teams along with Ken Kelley, Kassie Diel and Vicki Cook took a written math test called t..e Swanson Test.
