Dale LeGrand, Derrick Crow, Todd Frazee, Ricky Buck, Mike Krei, Curtis Parker, Tommy Marble, Derek Gulley. € HI COMMiMT Football The 1981 football season started by losing to the eventual state champions, which showed us we definitely had work to do. Although we did improve, the league was tough and well balanced with Granada, the state runner-up and Wiley getting to the semi -finals, in our league. We tied with three other teams which showed the balance of the league. Injuries played a roll in the season as we had players out with injuries in every gaae. Regardless of the season record, I hope each member of the team received some kind of satisfaction from having partcipated. 7 Coach Crawford

Looking back on this year, I could say I saw much improvement. Our season didn't began very well but as the season went on our team steadily showed more skill and confidence. We placed second in the Cheyenne Wells Tournament and third in the Eads Tournament, losing several games by only one point which taught us about preasure situations and gave us experience for high school We are losing four Eighth Graders but the future looks bright. Terri Wall, Davina Bright, Lora Kirby, and Polly Howe will be returning for the girls. We will have five Sixth Grade boys who show determination and dedication. All of them played on our B team and will be needed for the varsity team next year. Our Eighth Graders, Shannon Lessenden, Cindy Engelhardt, Diana Mitchell and Dawna Mitchell will be missed at Haswell but we hope to see them all play high school ball next year. I would like to thank Donna Williams for all her help this year and Delores Eikenberg for being our sports editor.
