n??-?a -1 • JR.HIGH EAGLETS JUNIOR HIGH FOOTEALL I 1977 Eads Junior High football team this year was undoubtedly the small est in size but the biggest in desire we have seen in several years. The smallest being 72 lb. Derek (Fly) Gulley to 110 lb. Mike (Moose) Weeks. Eads went from a Wing-T formation,to a double wing, and to a pro-set every series of downs, with the precision of a college team. Actually the Eads Junior High team this year was one of the most diver- sified scoring teams of our area. Scoring came from the quarterback options of Steve Shotton to fullback Mike Weeks and to running back Roger Calkins, then to the flanker passes to Terry Brown and Scott Pearcey. The final scoring attacks came from aerial catches of Derek (Fly) Gulley to the quickness of Tony Vitacco, our ends. The defensive team of Eads ran from a 6 slant to a k-5 regualr to a 5-2 standard. The defense was led by Mark Kelley, Kevin Hebberd, Mike Weeks, Steve Shotton, Roger Calkins and Derek Gulley. Only one injury came this year to veteran Ken Kelley, our top flanker, with a broken arm early in the season. by Coach Lay
