Richardson. The sport of volleyball for the girls of EHS had a slow beginning. We had sev- eral hurdles to overcome before we could concentrate on the finesse of the game. Thirty-six girls reported the first day of practice with sand lot experience. In addition, to sand lot experience, prac- tice in serving, spiking, passing, and bumping the ball with limited equipment (balls) prohibits perfection. Our season began in the exact proced- ure outline for a winning season; a home match and a win. Reality took over for the remainder of the season; we could serve the ball well, but couldn't return to keep the volley going. As the season came to a close, we were closing the gap in points with each match, closing the season with a 1-5 record. The season was climaxed with +th place in the league tournament at Hugo. Experience and practice provide a winning combination, and the girls gained in both this past season. We can look for- ward to next year with enthusiasm.
