CQdCM'5 COPirUER I have enjoyed working with the 1976 EHS Football Team. It was a learning experience for the team and myself. Coach Lay and I feel that the team developed into a good solid team. The defense trimmed 156 points off of the points allowed in 1975« (132 vs 288) Although the offense didn't do quite as well, there was improve- ment 6k points vs 52 in one less game. This promises a bright future for EHS Football as l8 lettermen are returning including 3 starting backs. Eight seniors will be missed, Gary Knoblock, Kip Peck, Ronnie Phillips, Steve Parker, Marty Barnett, Donnie Kelley, Denny Weirich, and Frank Crow. Gary, Kip and Ronnie were instrumental in our de- fense and Marty was our leading rusher on offense. With the likes of starter Mark Weirich, Paul Stavely, Milton Watts, Lonnie Eder, Richard Monson, Scott Bowen, John Calkins, Monte Richardson, and 10 others who lettered and will find positions next year, it's hard to feel anything but optomistic about EHS Football next fall.
