C.W. Eads 12 - 7 Cheyenne Wells spoiled the Eagles home- coming as they scored a pair of touchdowns to take a 12-7 victory home with them. The first quarter was scoreless for both teams as they tested out each others defense. The second period saw Cheyenne Wells take a 6-0 lead into the locker room. During the third quarter Eads got on the board as Brent Frazee hit Jerry Weirich on a 4 yd. pass late in the quarter, and A1 Seibel booted the extra points. The Eagles looked as if they were headed to victory, but luck went with the Tigers, as on a third to go from their own 35 they went to the air. The pass looked like it would be intercepted but it bounced off the shoulder of an Eagle defender right into the hands of the intended receiver. Then seconds later a personal foul tabbed against the Eagles put the ball on the Eagle 19, and on the next play Cheyenne Wells ran the ball over the right side of the Eagle line and several missed tackles allowed the winning touchdown.
