Class Prophecy The following feature article was taken from the fourth edition of the 1973 Eagle Echoes School Newspaper of the Eads Public School in Eads, Colorado. This article was written by Doris Lessenden as Alumni Editor of the paper. I have earned thousands of dollars in my jobs of singing on colored television and doing public social work. 1 have just completed an extended tour in my jet airplane during which I have visited all my classmates of the class of 1955 and invited them to meet next year, 1974, for an alumni convention at the dedication of the new gymnasium at Eads, Colorado. We left the money to start the fund for the new building. 1 am living in Rocky Ford, Colorado; therefore my nearest classmate is Gilbert Brown who is residing near Chivington on a 7,423 acre ranch. I found Gilbert in one of his many red barns working with his crossbreed cattle. Gil took me to his lovely western ranch house where I met his cute blond wife, one of our former schoolmates, and their six boys. I have a couple of classmates in Kansas so I went to Garden City first, to see Keith Uhland. 1 found him to be an influential wheat magnate. Keith's farm was immense; he had quonsets which seemed to be a mile long full of wheat and a beautiful home with all the modem conveniences, but no wife to enjoy it. From Garden City I went to Wichita, where I visited Carol Sue Dixon. I found her to be supervisor of the Telephone Company. Carol said she was married and had two children with very red hair. Carol's husband is engaged in maize farming and owns some oil wells in Kansas. I thought I should fly over to Kansas City to see some of my doctors while I was so near. Much to my surprise I found my dear friend, Madonna Wissel, as my doctor's assistant. Madonna said that she was a registered nurse and was now studying to be an orthopedic doctor. Her husband is an air force officer and they have three daughters. From Kansas City I flew up to Des Moines, Iowa, where Roy Brian was auditioning for a television exhibition having become world famous as a typist. On interviewing Roy I found that he owned and operated a private commercial school where he teaches his special techniques. Roy's wife is one of the teachers there. They make a charming couple as well as a wonderful typing team. Since I was near Minnesota, I flew up to see Gordon Buck who had gone there soon after his fascinating trip to that state with his dearly beloved. Now they own a large auto manufacturing company in St. Paul. I had a difficult time getting to see such an important man. Gordon’s cars are all very modern jet motored, with flashy paint jobs, and detachable wings. I bought a red one with three thousand of my millions. Sponsored by - OSOLItfS SERVICE STATION
