SENIOR POEM Some time ago-twelve years, in fact- In nineteen thirty-nine. The class of nineteen fifty-one Began to rise and shine. I'll introduce each one of them And tell a fact or two About their main ambitions or The things they like to do. First of all comes Donna Bell. Believe me, she's not dumb! I wonder what has made her smart. Perhaps her chewing gum? Dan Jackson is a peppy kid. His red hair is in curls. And he is liked by everyone-- Especially the girls. Irene Peck and Jean, now. They make a ducky pair! Jean's a very tall girl, but Irene stands 'way down---------there! Leila Freeman, then, comes next. She stands just five feet, four. A very demure girl is she Yet full of fun galore. Marilyn's so quiet that We hardly know she's here. And she's so cute she got elected Annual queen this year. Next, Dickie Fluke. Oh, what a guy! His car won him his fame. And though he's always late for school. The car is not to blame. And now we come to Lois Laing. She’s sweet, she's swell, she's bright. We also have Dolores Wimp Who's fun from morn till night. Melvin is our annual king; A swell and dandy guy. He’s cute and sweet and hard to beat. He's also rather shy. Lynn Healey and David Brabb Are really on the beam. They're teacher’s pests instead of pets, But captains of our team. Pete and George are mighty guys. (This is what I meant:) Pete is annual editor. And George—our president. Edward Peters and Bob Wimp Are last but far from least. We couldn't do without them, or We don't want to, at least.
