A School Within a School Inner school Is for students who have ability but aren't using it to the fullest. Instead of being compared to other students, they take Math, Science, Social and English in Inner School. They also may take any of Cooper's elective courses. Work of their classes is represented in their rooms. The teachers of Inner School also pursue their interests by teaching other subjects — Math one day, English the next. One change in the program was the movement from the cafeteria to a combination of rooms with partitions that separate different ideas. The Inner School organized and put on a play that was enjoyed by many. Mr. Phillips volunteered his time. Students working by themselves, for themselves, is the main objective of any school; and in Inner School it's working. Inner School— 29
