A renewal of spirit filled the air as the 10th Homecoming happened this year. After a few years of decline in popularity, this year a resurgence of interest filled the students during Homecoming 73. Various events kept the students' interests during the week preceding homecoming. Daily drawings for prizes, motorcyle jumping, the Rolling Gophers basketball game and a carnival all led up to the crowning of the 1973 Homecoming Queen. An added attraction this year was TV personality Barry ZeVan with humorous interviews of the Queen candidates. Overall, Homecoming 73 was one of the best Cooper ever had. 14
