DEDICATED TO Mr. Newkirk, you are our most unforgettable character. We shall always re- member the many times we saw you at every game, in the halls of our institution, and last but surely not least behind the wheel of our Mighty Goose . You are a man of few words, but you have the outspoken qualities that every true Smithite should have--always ready, willing, and able. These traits have been outstandingly shown in your nine years of service to our school. From the bottom of our hearts, we the class of 1964 dedicate the Smithsonian to you. THE GOOSE” 4

PROLOGUE ' We shall not be beat the ever echoing words of our football team. This Motto we have seenpersonified in all the activities at E. E. Smith. The curious, searching minds at our library, the fervorous tones in the singing of our school song, and the zeal found here at Smith were constant reminders of our theme at work. Along this road where the ultimate goal is graduation we have encountered success as well as failure, joys and sorrows, moments of study and moments of fun. Because we can look back and see where success triumphed over failure, joy won over sorrow, we have wonderful mem- ories. This Smithsonian is thusly the fulfillment of three years of our hopes and dreams. Enjoy with us these our Treasured Memories . 3
