Smithl-Iigh School ship bprepassengers whose rn ind s were ,filled with anticipattotlg ivwhoselexperiences did not include any participation what so ever in any .phase of high school life. This was the class of fifty seven. We entered the building as some one testing the solidity of a. bridge, however upon meeting the principal, teachers, and upper classmen, we were soon m ade to feel safe and sure that we, too, were a part of that wonderful family. 'Our first task was to familiarize ourselves with our new sur- roundings and to adjust to schedules and rules. Having done this we plunged whole heartedly into all phases of Curricular and extra Curricular Activities. Our Class was represented in the Glee Club, on the Football Team, Basketball Team, in the Red Cross, Band, and Student Council. A number of us made the honor roll the first sixgweeks. One of the highlights of our fr e s hm an year was the crowning of a freshman May Queen. Our first ye ar was truly an ewdciting and successful one. V 1 ' After completing successfully our freshmen ye ar we moved further inland, took up heavier responsibilities and took our places. as sophomores. Alon g with adjusting to our new status we were to be a part of another vast change. We entered a new Senior High School which we thought was the very best. Among our new objecfr tives was keeping our school neat, clean and attractive. On find'- ing that our work had become more complicated than the year be- fore we buckled down with greater efforts so that we could contiiiile doing well in our studies and activities. if The day finally came when we were classified as Juniorsll ln contrast to the years before our participation in activities greatly increased. We were represented in all phases of activities, iStu- dent Council, National Honor Society, Football T e am , Basketball i'T'?3.lI!i',: Band, Glee Club, Dramatic Club and the Charm Club. 5 ,lunior year found us preparing for what we ,event of our lives, the Junioifand i,., f'W'e',w'e'r'sef1-iot.1qn'lyj.',,,entertaining the seniors but we were our selves. f l A I. .2 fi ,'s,i 5 p s infsi Ej+fi?isti.s'allMgsashefkl .
