A SPIRITED SUPPORT The Co-Stars at every Dysart Football and Basketball game were the Junior 'Varsity and Freshmen Cheer- leading squads. The goals for each were to improve themselves, so they could become Varsity Cheer- leaders, by attending all activities. The most excit- ing part of being a cheerleader was being able to see different schools and riding the bus with the guys. ln front of every Wrestling Match were the Mat- maids. This year's matmaid squad's purpose was to cheer the wrestlers to victory. Due to lack of enthu- siasm, the once numerous members dwindled to a few. Even with this setback, the matmaids proved their spirit was sky high. These stars that cheer us on, make up the spirit of Dysart High. ...- FIVE 65

They performed to all kinds of different music and had the people jammin with them. Every summer the girls go to camp and bring back all kinds of awards, and this year proved no different. They won a Sweepstakes Trophy, Home Routine Tro- phy. The Spirit Stick, they were finalists for the award of Excellance. they were SEVE awarded a Superior Squad Ribbon and won 26 blue rib- bons in all. Two of the girls, Monica Baker and Yvonne Rodri- guez, won the Celebrity Sweepstakes Medal Qwhich is the highest award a pom girl may receivej. Monica's won this award 3 times and Yvonne twice. They were also asked to be part of the NCA Pom Staff. Building up Spirit at Dy- sart High School is a tough job. but the pom girls made it look easy.
