STARRING-f-FFA AND MECHA Take Onel Two of the biggest clubs at Dysart were Mecha and FFA CFuture Farmers Associationj. Mecha was strong with twenty-seven members. This year the starring officers were Romeo Cordova, Presidents Reina Cordova, Vice Presi- dent, .lovita Santoy. Secretary, Amelia De La Rosa, Treasurer. Reina Cordova, vice president said. l would like to see the club built up more. One of the main activities the club starred in was the homecoming gala. FFA starred thirty-nine members. Their officers were Bob- by Morrow, President, Angie Garcia, Ist Vice Presidents John La Fleur, 2nd Vice Presidents Karen Oblgilesby. Secretaryt Paula Bassea, Treasurer, Eddie Fulcher, Reporter, Kassie La Fleur. Sweet Heart. The goals for the organization were the same as the motto, Learning to do. doing to learn, learning to live. living to serve. They did many things such as exhibiting livestock at Fairs. and crop experiments with seeds. nutri- gens. and fertilizers. A major goal was to win a contest at State and go to Nationals in Kansas City. MO. An exciting thing happened this year. a donation of an Sl8.wO greenhouse from Aloe'Vera Greenhouses. Also Bobby Morrow placed first individual in livestock judging and the FFA. as a whole. placed third in parliamentary-procedure. Beth, are you still on the phone? Diane, please don't take anymore pic- tures of me! Ernesto! These are just a sampling of quotes heard on location during the production of the 20th Cen- tury Demon. The El Demonio staff worked very hard to produce an award-winner. This valiant crew spent long hours, sweating it out in a well-equipped, but windowless room known at times as The Prison l Often until after Szx PJ11. This has been one of the best staffs that I've had, and Lupe Occhiline, chief editor, has done a terrific iob! stated Ms. Della-Calce, advisor on the set. Such jobs as: making, taking, and ordering pic- tures, creating layoutst writing stories, and cap- tions: and interviewing various people and clubs. kept the staff busy all year long. The responsibil- ity of being a yearbook member may not look complicated, but ask any staffer and the answer you will get may be similar to this, HAI HA! HA! With everyone working and doing their jobs. l think this yearbook is the best ever! said Patty Hermanson, copy editor. Lupe Occhiline also com- mented, It's a lot of fun most of the time. But it's very hard work. This year we had a great staff that produced a fantastic book. And l'm very hap- py it turned out okay! Thanks to all of our staff, like the great photog- raphers, terrific editors, fantastic reporters, and exceptional chief editor and advisor, we had a great book this year!
