ENGLISH AND R ADING ON THE RO'LL lt's jammin' and all the way live! says Clifton Reaux. English with Mr. Butler is really interesting, explains Candy Smith, because he really gets into it and you never know what to expect. This was the talk of the English classes. Many worked hard to do a good job and new books were used to help them. lt was necessary to work hard since English was a required class. Armida Cisneros felt, English this year was different because it had many challengesf' Reading also had many challenges, since a ninth grade level had to be met to graduate. Many worked hard in these classes to reach their individual goals. Also a new program went into effect to help students in the Reading class. The program was the student tutor program. It worked out well and many enjoyed it. ONEQ Ricky Ramirez finds the girl at the door much more interesting. TWOQ Doesn't he have physiquel says Diane. THREEQ When Ms. Della-Calce talks. everyone listens. FOURQ Mrs. Boernor tries desperately to prepare for her sixth hour class. FIVEQ Elsa Campos and Susan Gaitan enjoy talking during Reading class. SIXJ Maria Salazar, Alma Vigueria. and Maria Colmenero dis- cuss how they will make up their unexcused tardies.
