The Society? sponsored Qt historical tour of Cleveland for secondll graiders frorii Chesterfield Elementary School. For onegi week, Febfqary 15-19, 1971, the Society displayed itsl! cijeativenessand blacks cultural attributes with a Blacklt Cul-ture Week. In the spring, the Society projected wellfgkorganized Spring Ball Queen Contestajit Campaign. Our queen candidate Miss Linda Lovellost to strongegpapetition. Also during the spring the15Soci- ety sponsore the Nature Lecture for sixth graders at Chesterfield Elementary School. Once again this year the Society set aside April 5, 1971, asia day of memorance of the Prince of Peace, Dr. Martin Luther King. At the lSlociety's annual initiationailid recogni- tion dinner, the Society gave a plaque for Dedicated Service to Mr. Norman Sosna, our advisof.,hiAlso at this dinner a plazue was given to the Outstanding Personality of the Society, the person who personified black- ness, pride, and unselfishness in working towards the successfulnessihf the Soceity. The Society would like to offer this message for future reference, When you measure somebody, measure them right, make sure you've taken into account the hills and valleys they've came through to get to where ever they are.
