HOME TRAINERS Our Dyer School Home Trainers are always on the go - going from home to home, working with children and adults who are not yet ready to enroll in community classes. Not ionly do they work with the children, but families too, showing them ways the retarded person can functioh better in the home. They bring information about Hamilton County services that are available, help to alleviate that isolated, helpless feeling, and bring encouragemeht and a welcome break in the day for mothers who cannot yet send their child off to school. Some of the activities Home Trainers teach are the same ones our Dyer School students work on too! They teach self- help skills like: washing face and hands, zipping and buttoning. combing hair and brushing teeth, mannerly eating, and putting toys away. With next year's addition of developmental classes at Dyer School, maybe a lot of home training student: will be graduating to Dyer School! THE HOMEMAKING FAMILY The Homemaking Family has experienced quite a busy school year with many varied experiences, activities and happenings. It seems that by the time we really get to know each other, the school year is over. In addition to the very busy homeeroutined jobs, all members have in one way or another participated in most of the schoolls extra curricular programs, and each has earned outstanding recognition in his field of accomplishments. Some were taking guitar lessons. others were developing their athletic abilities for the Olympics, others were busy with their basketball practices. Cheerleading obligations. you name it, and if it meant additional recognition for DYER SCHOOL, the Homemaking Family was represented. Their school year will close with a Family luncheon at Holieay Inn, and as each goes his way during the summer months, all of their friends and acquaintances wish them a very pleasant summer and a delightful vacation.
