DON MORIARTY, the trustee of St. John Township, has done much to aid the betterment of our school and community. Through his dili' gent efforts and hard work, our beautiful new school has been completed. Soon going into his sixth year as trustee, he continues to discharge his duties with willingness and efficiency. Few men could have done the excellent job that Mr. Moriarty has accomplished for his community. ,f Essential Cogs in . . . GEORGE BIBICH is the popular su- pervising principal. Purchasing of sup- plies, maintenance of equipment, hiring of teachers, and establishment of broad school policies are a few of his many duties. FRED JONES, in his three years as principal, has done much to give our school the high rating it holds, and has made it a better place in which to acquire a good education. The course of study has been broadened, the aca- demic standard raised, the IJ HESS- RIGHT program introduced, and gen- eral school spirit and morale substan- tially improved,

Dyer Central Sounds Off Through Its A cademic Program 353,-f Since students go to school pri- marily to learn, the most important part of any school is its academic pro- gram. Silence prevails in the class- room as voices are hushed and laugh- ter is stifled. However, when walking through the halls, one can hear the hum of sewing machines, the muffled voices of teachers lecturing, the one- two count of calisthenics, and all the other stimulating sounds which indi- cate that students are devoting their time to study.

. . . Machinery of Education DOROTHY AINSLEY and WILBUR F. GIERL are the deans of girls and boys. In addition to counseling students and adminis- tering the testing program, Mrs. Ainsley teaches senior English and sponsors the Ec- ho, the Senior Drama Club, and the Nation- al Honor Society. Mr. Gierl teaches the ac- celerated classes in algebra and geometry. Both are members of the Faculty Review Board which considers students' applica- tions for re-admission to the school. PAULINE RONJAK lcounty nurse? visits many schools in this area as a public nurse. MARY LYONS lschool nurse! is assigned to grade schools Kolling and Kahler, as. well as the high school. Not only do they give students first aid when necessary, but they also carry out the school health program which includes tuberculin testing, vaccina- tions ,and testing of both vision and hearing. Mrs. Howell combines many jobs under one title, in- cluding receiving visitors, keeping all records and reports of the school, training office assistants, and issuing classroom supplies to teachers.
