In the halls of D Before survive the Soon after initiation, tue freshmen held their f rat class resting electlng the following officers Jack York, President Ted Patterson, Vice President, and Phyllis Olson, Secretary Treasurer 'r Hendrix was the sponsor, the class colors were green and white the class flower was the red carnation, and the motto was 'Push, pull or get out of the way fall of '50 fifteen scared freshmen crept into the nhallowed they were accepted as part of the student body, they had to harrowing experience of initiation The freshman outing was a fishing party at Lake Council Grove The following spring the class of '54 entertained the eighth grade with a picnic on the last day of school at Lake Council Grove Thirteen members of the class returned the sophomore year, and Mrs Hendrix was the sponsor The sophomore officers were Jack York, President Barbara Moore, Vice President, Donna Goss, Secretary, and Joyce Miller Treasurer During the first semester the class had a picnic at Junction City Park and attended the show During the second semester the class acted as host for the all school George Washington Party in February The class sponsor for the Junior year was Miss Jevons, and the officers were as follows Barbara Moore, President, Joyce Miller, Vice President, Marilyn Church, Secretary, and Roger Parker, Treasurer The Junior play, 'The Midnight Sun was presented December 5, and was proclaimed a reat success The class of '54 entertained the school with a Christmas arty During this year the class lost two members Selling Christmas and assorted cards increased the capital of this illustrious group In the spring of the junior year the class of '54 was responsible for the annual Junior Senior banquet. The theme was nSouth Seas. At the beginning of the senior and final year initiation of the thirteen green freshmen preceded the all school lawn party. Senior officers were as follows: Barbara Moore, Presidentg Phyllis Olson, Vice President, Donna Goss, Secretaryg Joyce Miller, Treasurer' and Tony Reynoso, Student Council. Coach Panesis was the class sponsor. Financial operations included selling magazines, the venture was a success. On January 6, Glenn Bacon came to take the senior pictures. - livery of the photographs proved that, with its countless other talent, the class was photogenic. The first semester social activity was a picnic at the Junction City Park followed by attending a show. The dramatic success of the year, the Senior Play, was given April 27 1954. , On May 1 the Juniors honored the class of '54 with the Junior Senior banquet. This highlight of the social calendar was most enjoyable. During this year the class published the school paper and the annual in addition to making distinguished contributions to the musical and sth letlc events of the school year. The last week of the hardest but best year of school brought Class Night, Baccalaureate, and Commencement. As a finale a class trip to the Ozarks has been planned. as . .
