FOREWORD --- FROM LITTLE ACORNS GROW IN PRESENTINGMTHIS Loc from the Engle Woods, we seniors hope that it may serve in part as an inspiration to the young twigs who are soon to take our places in the forest. Indeed, it was a scant three years ago that we too were saplings, with perhaps a little moist sawdust behind our ears and birds' nests in our hair. However, in the course of these three years, our roots have become firmly imbedded in the rich soil of the Engle Woods, and we have grown to be sturdy young timber with our heads held high among the other trees of our size. But we have not spread our branches too far, for the faculty with prudent pruning, has prevented our shade from stunting the growth of the seedlings below us. These same woodsmen have seen to it that we have not been humps on the Log , or given to barking up the wrong tree 3 instead, they have helped us spread our roots in all directions so that we may better hold our own in the stormy winds that are to bend our branches in the future. Even the stafl' on which I lean is hewn from the same tried and seasoned wood-all chips from the same block-and it is their wish as well as mine that by leaving this fine, sturdy Log on which our deeds are engraved, we will blaze a trail that will guide future seniors to greater and greater achievements.
