I am a human being. and I am unique. I laugh at love, I cry with love. I am strongwilled. and I am frail. I have reason, and I have affections I am lonely. and I desire solitude. I understand, yet I cannot comprehend. A light breeze rustles white blossoms. and plays over cool streams clear. Cold steel like a twisted snake winds about this countryside. and. upon these hard rails glides Time, like a collosal steam engine. Silently pursuing its continous journey it passes unnoticed. A man with a long, flowing beard enjoys: he sleeps. he eats, he wanders in this pleasant haven. And then. sans warning He is a lonely hgure on the cold. hard tracks With Time behind him. What is time. but an invention of man To keep him close to his own existence? If time were no measure, how would man know That his own life is short and inconsequential? Except for those few who transcend their own time And use well the world's tools, forever available. Man is oblivious to the voids of the world And seeks not true existence, but lives in true peace. Her Smile Lovers they had been a while He puzzled by her laughter And her smile. Pouring out his heart, his thoughts To her were known. But though she smiled endlessly, Her feelings never shone. Tell me why you smile so, And what that smile means. ls it because you love me so? Can you hold back the waves of Time's deep sea and forever Be with me? Not a word did she say Not a sound she made.
