V ,,,,, Now as the sands ot time are running out on our senior year, we contemplate the many hours we have spent in Duxbury High. Look- ing backipver the past, we see one person in particular who stands out as our teacher, our adviser, and most of all, our friend. To you, who came to our rescue as sophomores and remained our homeroom teacher throughout our junior year, we still look for help and guidance. Not only have you helped our class as a whole, but you have taken a personal interest in each individual. You have given us guidance, understanding and self-assurance, spiced with your contagious, ever-present dry wit. To you, Mr. Mendenhall, we, the class of 1955, gratefully dedicate our yearbook. Let's get things done. Whether at a Student Council meet- ing, 4-H Club, or a basketball game, Donnie, of the red hair and freckles, goes about his work with an enthusiasm that is hard to beat. Known far and wide as that Moss boy , he can also use his enthusi- asm for classroom antics better than anyone we know. Cush can always be seen taking people to rehearsals in his beach- wagon or shiping up the new paint iob. The Student Council was reborn this year with a new adviser, Mr. Wood. With his help, the council launched a newspaper, an activity ticket, and a redecorated P.X. with cool pink walls. The Student Council has sponsored such things as lunch period activities, menus, and record hops. Surely the people who worked on the SOX hop will be seeing socked feet for many dreams to come. A Christmas collection was also taken for the parishes in Duxbury. The Student Council has been the center of a wheel of activities, the drive needed in Duxbury High School. fa 'QV STUDENT COUNCIL First row: H. Marr, O. Johnson, N. Crocker, Vice-President, D. Time will not let us yirget RICHARD MAURICE MCGRATH Nothing so hard, but search will find it out Starting this year in the eleventh grade, Mac has cer- tainly made his way up the ladder. His efficient manner and leadership have shone brightly in management of the Green and White Key, and his dramatic ability is outstanding. Sing- ing in the Glee Club is his ioy, however, he can lose himself twice in anything scientific. Students who are not in the staff picture, but who did a great deal to make this yearbook possible, include Joan Nix, Richard McGrath, Nancy Johnson, and Joseph De Lorenzo. Our devoted librarian, Mrs. Bencordo, was absent when this yearbook was in production, but we have not forgotten her. We wish to acknowledge all the help that we were given in Operation Bookfinding. Thanks, Mrs. B , The door opens, and in walks Mr. Herrick, sometimes with his camera, sometimes holding stacks of lollipops, but always with a greeting for everyone. Since our first year, we have had Mr. Herrick as our friend and bus driver. A common sight at basketball games is the flash of his camera for candid snaps which he develops and gives to the players. Mr. Herrick will never stray from the heart and the spirit of D.H.S. l 45 OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER CLASS OF 1955 THE DICKSONS 71 COURT STREET Plymouth, Mass. 46 Compliments of . . .
