SENICDR A cap, a gown, a diploma--these are symbols of a senior. As we seniors look at these newly gained possessions of ours, we remember the days spent in earning them. It was the fall of 1960 when ,103 of us entered Duval High School as freshmen. We immediately elected our class officers: President, Sharon Runyang Vice President, Jerry Allen and Secretary-Treasurer, Pauletta Rayburn. Green and white were the colors chosen by our class. We chose a motto which ex- emplified our feeling and which has followed us through our academic life: This is only the begin- ning: our climax is yet to come. This first year of high school opened new horizons which have grad- ually broadened as the years have progressed. There were 102 students in our class at the be- ginning of our Sophomore year. Our class officers were: President, Joyce McCallisterg Vice President, Kathy Peckg Secretary-Treasurer, Judy Allen. Our second year at Duval was one of fun, work, and ex- 1-0 +C -Q HW CLASS citementg but we looked to our future as seniors and dreamed. Our next year was the last step to seniority. The class officers: President, Joyce McCallisterg Vice President, Roger Millerg Secretary, Judy Allen, Treas- urer, Linda McCallisterg Sergeant at Arms, Roger Huffman were elected by '19 of us juniors. This year we presented our play: See Ghost --Will Run , and ordered our rings for the coming year. There are now '76 students in our class, all of whom are very sophisticated seniors. Our officers are: President, Tommy McMellong Vice President, Roger Huffmang Secretary, Sharon Oneyg Treasurer, Judy Alleng Sergeant at Arms, Larry Gillenwater. We will remember many things about our senior year, our rings, our pictures, our play, our privileges, and certainly, our commencement. We have now reached our climax, but we know that it too is in reality a new beginning.
