CLASS HISTORY In September of l954 the class of 58 entered Dutton High We were still in the old building then To be xact there were Russell Verbael Olive Max well Gary Threlkeld LGVOIIIIG Becker Gloy Korkla Gene Clapshaw Gary Good Dav d Maurer Cecile Flick Garvin Tankersley Marvin Arp Helen Walstad Allen Decker and luhen Laisnez The sophomores initiated us and gave us a party then we gave them one in return two weeks later Mr Walsh was our class sponsor and we elected David Maurer as President Gary Good Vice President Gary Threlkeld Secretary Treasurer Mrs Evans was our class sponsor in our second year We lost Olive Gloy and Gene from the year before We initiated the freshmen but due to frowned upon activities our party for the freshmen was limited to a dance At Christmas Vonne Becker Vice President David Maurer and Secretary Treasurer Gary Threlkeld Our third year we had Mrs Hawley as class sponsor Garvin Tankersley had moved to California during the summer and Helen Walstad left us Gur officers were LaVonne Becker as President Marvin Arp as Vice President Cecile Flick as Secretary Treasurer and Russell Verbael and David Maurer were elected to the newly activated student council Gary Threlkeld transferred to Conrad for the second semester Our play Mary Comes Home From College was held on March 29 followed on May lOth with Tiptoeing Through the Tulips as our theme for the lumor Prom ln our last year we had Mr Hansen as sponsor We didnt lose anyone but lanice Thorne was our new in mber She stayed until the second semester and then left us Our officers were the same as the year before except David and lamce were elected to the student council and Gary Good was Vice President Our play That Crazy Smith Family was held in December Other events were Baccalaureate which was held on May 25th and Graduation on the 28th of May CLUB TAVERN c 12 ,, ,, . , 1 4- 1 f r 1 1 .
