By no means have we roarerl like a boast- ful lion but like a wise antl supreme 0116. We innnecliately took the leacl in the school hy rumiing away with all the honors in the liuclget Drive. On the heels of our financial victory we pooletl our imaginative miucls to cre- ate the most colorful and most fascinating Fall Festival ever given. ln paying our respects to the taltering VVilmington Wiltlcat we mournecl with -left t'hamller atg our torchlit funeral. Meanwhile, the foothall team letl by senior eo- captains llavc Vllitten aml NVallaee Newton dealt the final hlows to the rainsoaketl 'cats At half- time from a court ot' our five loveliest senior girls, Nancy Jones steppctl forward to he 1-rownetl queen of' the festivities. With a group off tlcterminccl seniors who glaclly aceeptefl their responsibilities of learler- ship, the Stuclcnt l'oimcil this year accomplished more aml better things in proving to be one of thc best councils of the past years. iuxom 20 Perhaps our biggest roar, however, was our masterful production of the musical Brigadoon. VVith a core of talented singers and actors, the flcterniinatiou of the large choruses and Commit.- tees, and the clcvotecl help of the faculty direc- tors, we produced the most exciting and enjoy- ahle senior play ever witnessed at Durham High. For many years to come this performance will he reniemhcrecl. Looking in retrospect at our class, one would certainly have to label us as the most successful class to pass through Durhain High in many a year. ln every entleavor we have taken full arl- vantage of our great talents and great minds, coortlinatecl them with our clogged determination and have succeeded every time in making a top- notch showing. Our work has never been marred hy unfavorable actions. In the future we will carry with us the goocl name we have macle for ourselves here at Dur- ham lligh. Don't be surprised to hear some roaring in these coming years. lt might be a liong but more than likely it will he signifying the success of the members of our class-the class of '63,
