The preface in our hook was Orientation 'Week After this followed the election ot the Sophomore Class officers: l'rc-sident, Johnson Ross, Vice-President, Nlorris llleisnerq Secretary, Mary Maddryq and Treasurer, Michael May, The tirst chapter in our hook was very important in that it shaped the events of our school days for the coming three years. We ,joined cluhs, societies, and Student Council committees. Many ot' us signed up taxon 20 for Hi-fliicket and Messenger Statts, and went out for Various teams. Vtle hought Student Tickets and sat i11 the hleachers yelling for the Bulldogs who came through with a tie with Reynolds High ot' lVinston- Salem for the State Uhampionship. Tak- ing part in Homecoming, we elected Elaine Herndon as our candidate. The Sopho- more Ulass showed their creative ahility hy having the winning tloats in the Parade. Our tirst touch of social lite was the Christmas Dance, Beneath the t,llll'lSiI1'1ilS Tree, sponsored hy the Student tlouncil. Soon after followed our exams. lVe then united in the presentation to the school of HSOIJTIOHIOYO Stunt Day, and later pro- duced a screamingly successful 'tBackward lVedding.
