 To the members of the graduating class of B.M.C. Durfee High School, 1974: The major and paramount objective of a Public School System is to produce a good citi- zen—one who is defined as a person who works effectively as an individual or with a group to solve problems that face him and the group now. It is this kind of good citizen who helps to create and adjust to the process of orderly change, a condition inherent in our system that was designed by our forefathers. You now approach graduation from Durfee High School and I offer my sincere congratu- lations and best wishes for your success in attaining the objective of citizenship for which you have been chosen.
