Indeed one of the most enjoyable assign- ments of a high school principal is the oppor- tunity to salute members of a graduating class, and so I hasten to join with your parents, rela- tives, teachers and friends in adding my sin cerest congratulations. Whether you are entering the world of con tinuing education or the world of work, it would seem to you, I am surer that it is one replete with indecisiveness, turmoil, and so-called new morality. Nonetheless, it remains a world which has expectations of leadership from you and so I urge you to take up this grave responsibility with utmost care. Never be satisfied with things as they are; rather be determined to improve them. Seek not to find a niche in this world re- maining complacent while everything around you seems to be crumbling. Seek instead to de- monstrate your dissatisfaction with the pre- sent. Work with a seriousness of purpose to mend the fissures, bring peace and justice to all humanity, insist upon the highest morality, and never waiver in your search for knowledge and truth. Join your thousands of outstanding pre decessors in making us proud to have been touched, if but briefly, by you. With each of you goes a part of us, and so I say to you, ad multos annos. James F.
