TO THE CLASS OF 1960: This is one of the finest hours of your young life. There may have been former incidents of great joy in your history but your graduation from B. M. C. Durfee High School marks your first mature experience as you break the ties of childhood to go forward into the adult world of man. What is the significance of graduation? It means you have successfully pursued a course of instruction at a school you now realize is markedly superior. You have benefited from the training of a learned faculty. Yours was the rare privilege of having been guided by a forthright principal, the late Ambrose F. Keeley - a scholar and a dedicated man with gentleness and firmness of purpose. Now you are approaching the threshold of a different life. Whether yours is a choice bf higher education or that of immediate employment, let me remind you that you are spiritually awake, mentally trained, and physically well adjusted because of your associations with Durfee. I wish to add my sincerest congratulations to those of your family and friends on your graduation. I pray that in your future life you will enjoy good health, much happiness and earned success.
