DLIRFEE STUDENTS PAY TRIBUTE TO THE MEMORY OF PRESIDENT FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT On Friday, April 13, 1945, the entire student body of the B. M. C Durfee High School respectfully assembled to honor the memory of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 1945. Principal Charles V. Carroll opened the assembly and called upon Rev- erend Lester Hull of the Sacred Heart Church to lead the students in prayer. Mayor Alexander C. Murray was then introduced and recalled the splendid work which President Roosevelt had done in the service of his country both in peace and during the trying period of war. Mr. Hector L. Belisle, superin- tendent of schools, then addressed the students. His talk, a glowing tribute to the late president, carried the message that a man is great because he possesses three oustanding qualities, vision, courage and faith. That Franklin Delano Roosevelt had vision, courage and faith was shown in his work during the eventful years of 1933 to 1945.

IN HONOR OF Mr. Hector L. Belisle The Class of 1945 wishes to pay tribute to Mr. Hector L. Belisle who has served the City of Fall River faithfully and well as superintendent of schools during the past thirty-two years. The Class of 1945 wishes Mr. Belisle many happy and pleasant days in the years to come.

This year many members of the senior class have left school to enter the Armed Forces. The Class of 1945 pays diem honor. Many members of the class have already enlisted and are now on inactive duty.
