Alice Scott, B.A., M,A. Miss Scott, who is from Powersville, Missouri, taught college preparatory English and was the librarian. Completing her tenth year of teaching at Durant, Miss Scott received her education at Drake University, the State College ,of Iowa, the University of Iowa, and Ashridge Collegeinlingland. iii? Harold Fairbairn, B.A. Physics, Algebra I, and general mathematics were taught by Mr. Fairbairn, Originally from Tekumah, Nebraska,Mr. Fairbairn studied.at Hastings College, Creighton University, and the University of Detroit. He served as sophomore class Sponsor, and was the assistant wrestling coach. Delphine Farrell, B.A. Mrs. Farrell is from Hawarden, Iowa, and received her B.A. degree from the State College offlowa in Cedar Falls. In her third year of teaching and first at Durant, Mrs. Farrell taught sophomore and junior high English and literature classes. Teachers uide Students I Robert Dreher, B.S. Mr. Dreher was in charge of the many aspects of instrumental music--marching band, concert band, and stage band. He is from Scranton, Iowa, and received his education at Northwest Missouri State College. This was Mr. Dreher's third year of teaching in Durant.

Doris Boulet, B.S. Geometry, Algebra II, and advanced math were taught this year by Mrs. Boulet. From near Muscatine, she came to Durant during late fall. Mr. Dale Langmann taught before her arrival. She has studied at Iowa State University and Austin Peay State College in Tennessee. In his first year of teaching, Mr. Ragnar from Rockford, Illinois, taught music and directed the high school chorus. He was also in charge ofthe junior band and junior high stage band. He received his B.S. in education with a major in music at Northern Illinois University. Randall Northrup, B.A. Mr. Northrup of Oelwein, Iowa, coached high school football and basketball for the secondyear at Durant. He received his education at Coe College, Upper Iowa University, and the State University of Iowa. Mr. Northrup taught social studies in the junior high school. Their Knowledge Jerry Clark, B.S,E. Presiding over the physical science, biology, and chemistry classes for the second year was Mr. Clark. He studied at Wayne State College and Morningside College in his home town of Sioux City, Iowa. Mr. Clark also served as supervisor of concessions and the Science Club's advisor. 5

L35 :Lit ,, fi? 'Q Dennis Powles, B.A. Mr. Powles taught American history, world history, and elementary physical education. In his first year at Durant, he also coached junior high football, high school basketball, track, and cross-country. Mr. Powles is from Sidney, Iowa, and studied at Parsons College, the University of Iowa, and the University of Florida. in Varied Subjects Armond A, Borchardt, B.A,, M.A. Mr. Borchardt in his fourth year at Durant was guidance counselor and taught psychology and sociology. From Osage, Iowa, he has studied at Iowa Wesleyan College, Iowa State Teachers College, the University of Iowa, and Western Illinois University. James Farrell, B.A. The speech department this year was headed by Mr. Farrell. Radio news and an active debate program were added to the speech department by Mr. Farrell, who was in his first year of teaching. He graduated from the State College of Iowa and is from Fort Dodge, Iowa. ffl XM' Betty Paul, B.A, Mrs. Paul taught government and economics at Durant in her first year of teaching. She received her education at the University of Iowa and Marycrest College. From Humboldt, Iowa, Mrs. Paul also served as a sophomore class sponsor.
